So I am making a long story short, my parents divorced when I was very young (5 years old) and my mother died, so then the money that she left behind did not go to my dad, since they divorced it went to me and my sister. Now I am 16, my aunt & uncle control my money in the bank and to withdraw some I need to ask them and get a lawyer and go to court to take out money, and they only deem it okay if it's for a good reason.
I want to know what age I have to be so I can control my money on my own, or at least have it so I can withdraw it from the bank and not going through a lawyer and court every time I want to take money out.

Hi, Depending on what state you live in the age when you control your monies would be 18 year old or 21 year old.
I would suggest trying to forget about that money till you turn the proper age. That way you will have interest on-top of that money. Making it more. Or better yet tell your Aunt and Uncle that you want to invest it in a Bank CD. A bank CD is where you put money in and for a set period of time you can't take the monies out and you earn a slightly higher interest. Just a thought. To protect your monies. Also that way you know that no one else is touching it.

In most states, you have to be a minimum of 21. In some, it's a minimum of 25. But your mother could have chosen ANY age, so it could be older than that.
