Contact the Department of Insurance in your state for a list of insurance companies that offer medicare supplement insurance for those under 65. As an example, there are several companies in the state of Arizona that offer such coverage, AARP UnitedHealthcare, Bankers Fidelity Life Insurance Co., Equitable Life and Casualty, Sterling Life Insurance Co., and United American Insurance Co.
It is quite possible that these companies offer coverage in your state. |

Medicare Part B and Medicare Supplements are two completely different things. (Medicare supplements are designed to pick up things like Medicare deductibles, coinsurance, and some services you might not have coverage through Medicare for. They are offered through private insurers. Medicare Part B is actual Medicare...Part A is the hospitalization plan, Part B is what covers physician and other outpatient services.)
The monthly Part B premium for 2007 is $93.50. (See the official press release here: http://www.cms.hhs.gov/apps/media/press/release.asp?Counter=1958) I don't believe that the 2008 premium has been released yet. |

A person who has been receiving disability from Social Security for 24 months is eligible to enroll for Medicare Part B. The card will be mailed to the claimant 3 months before the 24th month. The current Medicare Part B premium is $93.50. Depending on this persons income - if s/he is eligible for Medicaid, then possibly the state can pay for the Medicare premium. Also, if a person is on Kidney dialysis - s/he could be possibly eligible to enroll in Medicare Part B. If a person diagnosed with Lou Gehrigs disease (ALS) s/he is also eligible to enroll in Medicare Part B. Just in case you are wondering about Medicare Part A! If you paid into Medicare taxes, this Part is free (for hospitalization). More info on medicare - visit www.medicare.gov and www.socialsecurity.gov |

Medicare part B is $93.50 per month. If your income is low you may get help from your state to pay part of that. Conversely, if your income is high you may pay more.
The Part A deductible for 2007 is $992 and Part B is $131. After you pay the deductible Medicare pays 80% of the allowable charges. There are insurance policies that will pay your deductible. I do not know of any Medicare Supplement policies for people under 65. You can get Medicare Advantage plans though. These plans have a lower premium than the supplements and average around $35 per month. Depending upon where you live there will probably be some available for $0 per month and many will include the Part D prescription drug coverage. These policies have co-pays when you get medical care, such as doctor co-pays of around $10 - $15.
You'll want to visit a local independent agent who deals with senior plans to find the best plan available for you. |

I know for sure it pays 100%.even if you are under 65.If you get SSI it helps pay your prescription. And sometime medicare will pay it all depends on your problem. If you are in a plan it does not cost you,if you let medicare choose the plan. |
