You can't file a claim with their insurance company. The company insures them, not you.
They will file a claim after you sue them. With what is in this post, you have an easy case and shouldn't have any trouble finding an attorney who will take it on a contingency basis. You and your pregnant daughter should both call the same attorney. |

You can't file a claim on someone else's insurance policy. Period.
You have to SUE the landlord. So either hire an attorney, or go down to your local magistrate's office to file a claim in small claims court. |

You are unable to file a claim on some one else insurance as you are not there customer. You would have to file a legal claim and then they may take you seriously! |

i know in NC i can call the dmv to get someones auto carrier information, but i do not know of a way to get ahold of homeowners policy information. if you find out who the carrier is you CAN call them and report what happened to them. most times they will contact the insured and find out what happened and most likely explain his options of file the claim for you or get sued. talk to the landlord and in no uncertain terms tell him that you have let this "slide" long enough and if he will not help you that you WILL sue him. there are plenty of atnys out there wanting to make some quick money |

Get onto a Lawyer, there are clearly at fault that should have been repaired before they leased the place to any tenants, i worked in Insurance before, and by the sounds of it, you have a case. It will stand to you too that you went to the police. You can sue. |

File a complaint with your local State Attorney's Office of Consumer Protection. They are powerful, and know all of the right buttons to push. Additionally, since you were injured after several requests to have the stairs repaired, you have a strong "slip-and-fall" civil suit. |
