How to get a job in the US of A?
My husband's company is sending him to US for a long term project on an L1. I would like to join him but have no idea how to serach for a job there. I have an MBA in Marketing and have 3 yrs work experience in the mutual funds and insurance industry. I know i can go as his dependent and get a work permit.
Ask your husband's company for assistance. I know my company has several people here, and we have provided assistance to several wives. We even hired one of them.

You need a work permit otherwise you are not allowed to simply go and get a job when you get here. I have known lots of ex-patriots and many have complained that their wives are bored because they can't work and have trouble getting into social circles. If you don't need money, you could try to volunteer and build skills for when you return home by taking on various types of work that do not pay.
Good Luck

99% of American jobs are online and you can send resumes online to most. Google jobs there are hundreds of sites. In each are generally areas to put what are of the country you are looking and the kind of job. Happy hunting. I just pray you are NOT looking in Michigan.

Well, you get the work permit first. Your mba isn't going to help you much, or your mutual fund/insurance backround. You'll have to get licenses with whichever state you're going to live in - they don't transfer from state to state. THEN you'll be licensed, and it would be EASY to get a straight commission sales job - because you don't get paid unless you sell.
