If you go to church, you could try to open up a donation for her there. |

Call your church and see if your minister can help I think its a great idea. They could take an offering for her and that would definitely help. |

Any social groups she is a part of, Church, retirement community, friends having a bake off, neighborhood barbecue, talk to local non-profits
Get her on MediCare. It is easier to raise the money for Medicare premiums than $10k, even if she has to pay the full Medicare premiums. Medicare with a supplimental plan will go a long, long, long way.
You can also talk to a broker and find a Medicare replacement plan. Be certain the plan covers the treatments she's getting, and have no, or extremely high, Lifetime Maximum Benefits. |

There should be a social worker at the hospital that can assist you in finding additional dollars. |

Donations are not really the best way to fund this kind of healthcare; it is simply too expensive and will never really cover all of the costs.
The government(s) have lots of healthcare programs for those with no or few assets or income. Also, charity care is available from almost all hospitals.
Contact the folks below to find out what is available in your state. They are non-profit, and they a legit organization with nothing to sell. Ernie is the manager, and the best person to speak to, rather than just their regular operators. |

Have a benefit, we do that a lot around here for folks who were injured, home burned down, diagnosed with cancer etc. Of course we never bring in 10K but we are a small community, usually around $2600 to $5000, but every little bit helps. What we do is get a lot of people to cook some good food and people come eat for $5 a head, usually they pay much more since they know it is going to help someone, we also get some donations and sell raffle tickets, like for the last one we had a rancher who donated three whole cows and 4 pigs which gave us 6 sides of beef and 8 sides of pig to raffle off, that really brought in a lot of money. Usually the large organizations that normally rent out their conference rooms and such will let us use those rooms for free during the benefits for the dinners and drawings. Hope you find something to help her. God Bless |

She should be receiving medicare, which would be her primary payor over medicaid. If she cannot afford the premiums for medicare, medicaid might be able to make them for her. She needs to ask her medicaid worker about that. |
