Be honest! I worked in Insurance and they generally spot a dodgy claim, no-one can blame you for your mischievious child!!!

contact your insurance company, be honest with them and see what happens...........

If you are covered for accidental damage you are probably covered for your kids putting it in the bin. Just claim..

If you still have the receipt, go along to your insurance company and speak to them.

If the watch later turns up, remember to come clean and hand back the claim money.

gordonmother
Why don't you tell the truth, if you are covered for the watch, under home contents and you have the proof of purchase or a valuation certificate, then I am sure they will replace it. On the other hand , if you are claiming fraudulently, they will soon know about it.

Most policies cover mysterious disappearances. You can file a claim under that pretense. But if you later find it, you need to turn it in to the Insurance company.

I knew someone who claimed for lost diamond earrings, then found the originals after she'd bought replacements. She just didn't tell the insurance company as the claim had already been settled. Therefore I'm sure they'll pay out on a claim like yours too.

I don't think you can since it was your kids fault for breaking it and not a defect.

selina.evans
A friend of mine's child spilled cola on a new carpet and ruined it, there was no problem with the insurance company and so long as you have really searched the house and wherever else it may have been left, they should pay out on the loss of your watch.

xthespot2001
Well more than likely it was actually stolen, when a theif broke your downstair window and took it. File police report and claim it on your insurance.
