Why aren't you on your parents insurance?
Call your local health department, there are programs in place for prenatal care.
Also, Planned Parenthood helps with prenatal care (they do much more than abortions-contrary to what most people think).
Truthfully, this is your parents problem as you are still a minor and they are 100% responsible for your health care and expenses.
The father will end up having to pay for the baby's hospital bill in the end.
And, I'm sorry and I definitely am not judging you, I had my son at 15 and you have a hard road to walk. You need all the help and support you can get.
Good luck |

Are you sure you don't qualify for medicaid? I know a few girls who used it (as teenagers) and their parents did well. Have you already tried to sign up?
Contact www.pregnancycenters.org for more help. You'd be surprised what's near you. |

I think your baby can be added to their insurance policy as a dependent since you're still a minor. |

Contact your state Department of Social Services. There are programs specifically for kids in your situation. Because you are pregnant Medicaid should be available and after the baby is born they have WIC(Women Infants and Children) to help with baby food and formula.
Having 5 daughter I researched what to do but luckily I was not faced with this. |

You need to ask your parents for help. There is no way you can get insurance on your own. |

Once you're pregnant, you can't GET private health insurance. It's too late.
If you're not on your parents insurance, and you can't get medicaid (medicare is for the over 65 set), AND you applied under your state Children's Health Insurance Program and still don't qualify, you're going to be uninsured.
But as a minor, your parents are responsible for your bills and prenatal care.
Regardless, I'd STRONGLY suggest that maybe you need more help and support that your parents are providing. There is a faith-based non-denominational program that many, many churches support, providing money, counseling, clothing, etc, basically ANY kind of help a young girl might need with a surprise pregnancy. It's called "Project Gabriel", and you should check if they have one in your city. Here's the website: http://www.gabrielproject.com/contacts.htm |

Seems like you should be included with your parents' insurance. I had lots of help from Medicaid and the county health department. Best wishes. |

Do you mean that you don't qualify for medicaid? Have you applied for medicaid for pregnant women. They may have to take into consideration your parents income due to your age, but the income guidelines may be different for this program. Contact the Family Service office in the state you live in. Also, if your parents make too much money for you to qualify for medicaid, why aren't you covered under their health insurance. The only thing I might suggest and it is extreme is to leave your parents home and move in with a relative (grandparent, aunt, etc) and then apply for medicaid benefits. |

I would think that if you are still covered under your parent's insurance, then all prenatal medical care will be covered under their insurance. |

So, your not on their plan? I wonder why? Did you talk to them and see if they can put you and your baby on the plan? If they can't there is an alternative. I wish you good luck! |

Giving birth to an unwanted child will poison your life.
Consider abortion. Screw what other people tell you...this is YOUR life!
Don't let others pressure you into doing something you don't want to do.
Yes, even me. |

First of all, I am sorry you're in such turmoil.
Second, seek out your local community clinic, Planned Parenthood or your school counselor for other ideas. |

Well if you are looking for money to cover the costs, then at your age i would consider adoption and with that usually the adoptive parents would help with medical and living costs (food, vitamins, meds, ect.) if you don't qualify for medicare there isn't much you can do |

if your parents make too much for you to qualify for medicare then they should have insurance on you. but it sounds like they dont. so look into medicaid. being that youre pregnant, there should be a loophole somewhere...im not certain, but i think being that you are pregnant you should qualify for one of the 2. i dont know the difference honestly. but look into both. bc youre prego you qualify for one of the two i know. good luck |

Medical insurance cannot be refused to a pregnant woman. It does not matter how much money your parents make, they have to give you insurance if you are pregnant. Go to the health department or call them and they will set everything up for you. |
