Janice C | I'm being sued after rearending someone. My insurance will pay for it all. Will this stil impact my credit?how? |
I am worried about this lawsuit negatively affecting my credit even though it is well within my insurance limits and will be paid. This is my very first accident and I am 42 years old. I have great credit (no late payments or anything like that) and want to keep it that way. |

Ive never heard of someone's credit getting ruined from a car accident when they are insured. Just make sure youre up-to-date on your insurance payments, let the insurance company do their job, and get ready for a surcharge on your insurance bill. Hopefully you have enough coverage on your insurance plan that it will cover the "bodily harm" component to it.
Good luck and dont worry....youre not alone. This has happened to many people, and the judge/jury/court magistrate will not let the person sueing you go "overboard" with bullcrap charges. They tend to cut to the chase. |

it wont effect your credit unless theres a judgment entered against you. since your insurance will cover it, that shouldnt be a problem |

You are fine. This is a very common practice. As long as you have adequate coverage (which you say you do) it will not affect your credit. |

if you are being sued, the fact that you are being sued will show up. but if you are insured, then no, it will not impact your credit at all. credit is only impacted by missed payment schedules. even if you were not insured, it would not affect your credit unless you borrowed the money to pay for the damage and then didn't pay that debt. it might impact your insurance rates, but not your credit.
Why are you being sued if you did it and you are insured? Your insurance company might be the one being sued. Check that out. |

You have to get them to settle out of court if it goes to court and becomes a judgment than it will go on you're credit for seven years! as a judgment not like a charge off or late payment its legal and can adversely effect you're score.what made them take you to court if the insurance is going to pay anyway? You better kiss some *** bring out the knee pads!!!! |

I don't see how it will affect your credit. Your insurance premiums might go up though. |

It shouldn't affect your credit at all. |
