Hard to say.
See, they're taking your word for EVERYTHING. After you hit the "commit" button, and put your credit card in, they'll VERIFY it. So if you have an undisclosed violation or accident, they'll uprate you. If you have an undisclosed household member (as per mvr reports), they'll uprate you. If you fail to mail/fax in proof of prior, they'll uprate you.
So, how brutally honest were you with the quote?
If, however, you have spectacular credit and ONE DUI, Progressive really is the best bet in town.
Bottom line - you're being your own agent, so you'd have to ask your agent how "solid" the quote is - that's you. |

The only way to compare is to have your present detailed policy and values and compare line item for line item and then read the fine print.
Progressive and Geico have both been known to under pay when there is an accident. We use Nationwide and were very satisfied with their service and fees.
Talk with auto repair shop. They will give you the facts about what is better agent to deal with. Bottom line you've got to be agressive when it comes to getting your vehicle repaired correctly. For example, someone ran into our truck. I didn't want refurbished parts and told the agency I wanted FACTORY PARTS. They had no choice but to put them in. They just wouldn't warranty for years but I have the factory warranty and the repair shop is good friend who stands behind his people work so that was not revelant for me. They were looking for the cheapest, I was looking for the quality of parts and labor. It was my own insurance company who told me what I needed to do to be satisfied. |

just be sure you are comparing apples to apples
AND if you are saying the rates online are what you are going by you should know that online rate quotes are inaccurate.

i agree with ging. i have body shops in my area that REFUSE to do business with Progressive for claims because they have had too many problems with them. Thats a BIG red flag in insurance. Call an independent agent in your area and have them look around for you. then you would have an acutal person locally to help you in case you need it. an agent will "go to bat" for their clients. when you go directly through a company, you never speak to the same person twice and this can be a real bad thing when you have any type of issue or claim. |

Yes! The catch is that they won't cover everything they need to in an auto accident. My husband has been in the Body Shop business for over 30 years, and he deals with ALL insurances. The Best one out there, that won't leave you high and dry in your time of need, is State Farm. They may cost a little bit more, but in the end it is WELL worth it. |

You should contact a local agent who knows Progressive's coverage inside and out. I know in Utah, where I am an agent it is sufficient. You might not find all of the bells and whistles but it will do what you need it to do. A local agent would be happy to help you through this.
