Or you can go my route I am a licensed agent in all 50 states and PR. I don't work on comission (also Don't make as much as some) Company assists in maintaining my licenses, pays me a salary have benefits and don't have to worry about commisions. part time sales part time customer service on a large group policy. I've been an independent agent didn't like it much. |

If you are doing it for the money then you are in it for the wrong reason. Whatever you do, you must have a passion for it. Without passion it is nothing more than a job and you will never reach your full potential. If you have a passion for insurance and you want to help protect businesses and families then you will do well in insurance. If not, find something you love and find a way to succeed doing that. |

Insurance

it is easy to become an insurance agent, but to make it it depends on ONE thing
1) PERSONAL DRIVE
- i see many good agents who are technically sound and knowledgeable but fail in this business.
- i also realised some are not too knowlegable but willing to sacrifice more and work harder make it.
So what is the secret ?
Insurance can be very wide, you need to find your own area of specialty and remain focus in that particular area.
Some millionaires insurance agent only sell critical illness, some only sell whole life and some only sell endownment plan.
But all these people can make it through.
But all have them have ONE similarity, they are self driven and have personal goal in mind.
Set some goal, attend more seminars (successful agent stories) and get inspired by them.
start building your own network, increase your knowledge and see more people and one last point = able to accept rejection. Rejections are part and parcel of the game. But there are courses or books that can help you in this area
Displine your self to meet at least 5 people a day.
Happy selling, Insurance industry need more self driven people like you |

It's true. It really does depend on your personal drive to be successful. Some of the agents I have worked with at New York Life make over a million a year, and others can't seem to break $50k. For those that can hack it, it's a great career. |

Agency is an area of commercial law dealing with a contractual or quasi-contractual tripartite set of relationships when an Agent is authorized to act on behalf of another (called the Principal) to create a legal relationship with a Third Party. Succinctly, it may be referred to as the relationship between a principal and an agent whereby the principal, expressly or impliedly, authorizes the agent to work under his control and on his behalf. The agent is, thus, required to negotiate on behalf of the principal or bring him and third parties into contractual relationship. This branch of law separates and regulates the relationships between:
Agents and Principals;
Agents and the Third Parties with whom they deal on their Principals' behalf; and
Principals and the Third Parties when the Agents purport to deal on their behalf.
The common law principle in operation is usually represented in the Latin phrase, qui facit per alium, facit per se, i.e. the one who acts through another, acts in his or her own interests and it is a parallel concept to vicarious liability and strict liability in which one person is held liable in Criminal law or Tort for the acts or omissions of another |
