I asked if baliffs could take your things on hp?
i forgot to mention the the warrent is in my husbands name and hp is in mine
HP - hire for purchase agreement? Sort of like Rent - To - Own here in the U.S., I guess.
No, they cannot take it because it is not yours until you've paid for it. It still belongs to the place you are buying it from. Also, it's in your name, and they can only take the husbands property.
However, I'm in the U.S. and had to read U.K. laws to figure this out so I would strongly suggest you ask a Solicitor in the U.K. to make sure.

Jackie
They can't take YOUR belongings and also nothing thats on HP
edgarl
Anything on HP remains the property of the finance company until paid for.
Firesparky
Bailiffs cant take property on hp no matter who's name it's in show them hp contract ( don't let them in if warrant is not for any kind of tax )
mbrcatz
NO idea what HP means, but if your state is a community property state, then the bailiff can take any community property on a warrant in your husband's name.
