The only thing I would suggest is find a job that offers group insurance and get in the plan. Group plans don't require any underwriting, and they take people with pre-existing conditions.
Otherwise, try applying on your own BEFORE all of this gets into your medical files. If it does turn out to be cancer, no one will cover you.

It wouldn't matter either way... no insurance company pays for pre-existing conditions... government supplemented insurance is the only chance you have really... welfare.
What the insurance agent said could help, but since most new employers have a 6 months wait before you can get insurance that's probably not a valid option. |

Try looking into what is called "needy medicaid".If you can prove that you can't pay your medical bills you should qualify. |

Honestly, go bankrupt over the medical bills. It's not uncommon anymore with the economy the way that it is. Best of luck. |

Try calling the American Cancer Society. They may be able to help you or recommend the best course of action. Look them up on line and find out who you can call in your area. Early twenties is pretty early to get cancer. I hope you'll be alright. Good luck!

It sounds as if you have an 80% chance that this is a benign tumor--in case you do have cancer--check with you local social service department for public health insurance. Also, another option would be to contact major research cancer centers. (A good choice would be Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC--they have tons of resources and if they were not able to assist you, they may be able to point you in the right direction.) You are OK drug comp will give you free drug if you have cancer but you will still have physicans fees and most will work surgery will be expensive ask the surgon for a social services person at the hospital he would do the surg at and they can work with you. |

Another person who thought i won't get sick,i don't need no stinking health insurance,screw those insurance company's i will keep my money and not give it to insurance company.My parents used to say you made your bed now lay in it.I don't even feel a little bit sorry for you. |

Check out Kaizer and BlueCross. Thay have personal insurance plans for approx. 250 a month. But please do it before you go to a doctor. And buy Cancer Insurance (Omaha Mutual - $10 a month) as well, because no regular insurance company will pay your cancer bills if you bought insurance knowing that you have cancer. CALL THEM!!!
And remember, you have 4 chances out of 5 that you dont have cancer. Good luck! |

medicaid might cover you if you have little assets and such. States also have state programs that are available if you are declined from other health insurance companies as well. Although there is a cost to them. |

If you don't have any assets, after you go through treatment, it might be best just to go through bankruptsy (if it's cancer). That's so awful, and just another testemony as to why we need social healthcare here in the world's wealthiest country. |
