If he won't give you his insurance details, get a solicitor to write a letter to him claiming personal injury, these types of letters are fairly standard and usually recommend that the recipient pass the letter onto their insurers immediately. Practically all household insurance policies also have Public Liability Cover as well as the normal buildings and contents cover. This basically means that insurers provide cover to members of the public who come into someones house and sustain an injury. You definitely have a case here, whether or not you want to sue your cousin is up to you but the solicitors letter is the way to go. Take care & hope the foot heals well. |

if your cousin won't give you insurance info then take him to court and sue him for the damages you have, You have the right to be compensated and maybe once the court has given you a judgement he will make a claim to his insurance company to reimburse him. |

Good grief. After reading through all the "sue" responses it is no wonder our courts are jammed up with stupid cry baby cases.
How about you just take the bills to your cousin, sit down and have a chat about it? You didn't say you've asked him to pay for your bills, so you don't know if he will.
Actually, it sounds like you went right for the money, his insurance company.
This is what is wrong with our country....greed.
By the way, if I were walking up/down stairs, I'm pretty certain I would have noticed missing stairs and I wear glasses. |

You don't NEED his insurance information - you can't file a claim on his policy. You have to flat out sue him.
LIkely, if he doesn't have any stairs, he doesn't have homeowners insurance, either.
So, just sue him!! |
