Most states have a "deferred adjudication" process where you can plead "No contest" and pay administrative costs and no ticket is recorded.
Look on the ticket and call the clerk of the court and ask if such a method exists in your state. It, or something like it, usually gives a first offender a break on points, but the costs will be the same as the ticket, or perhaps a bit more. It's still a good deal. |

Does your boyfriend have insurance on his car? Do even own a car? If you don't own a car, you could have some sort of policy to cover you driving anyone's car, but it won't help you now.
I'm sorry but it frustrates me to hear of uninsured drivers. This is the reason insurance is high for everyone. You were uninsured AND speeding?? You're lucky you didn't crash into someone because you could have been sued seriously. |

You got a speeding ticket. Pay the speeding ticket.
This has nothing to do with insurance, and you don't need an attorney. Just pay the ticket.

If you didnt get into an accident, then you are ok. If you are not the registered owner of the car, and you drive it wout insurance, then you are ok!
The car itself should be insured, and that is the registered owners responsibility. You will be considered permissive use.
Your only problem here is your ticket. You should try to see if you can take traffic school to clear the ticket and not have it go on your record.
You didnt mention where you live, but in CA you can go to court and see if the police office who gave you the ticket shows up. If he doesnt, then its written off and you dont have to pay. If you choose not to go to court, youre gonna have to pay for it.
The traffic school thing is only to avoid getting points on your record. |

Were you speeding? If so,pay the fine.
Did you also get a ticket for failure to have insurance? Either way you still need to get insured. Just do it. The speeding ticket will increase your rates. I'm not sure an attorney can do what you expect.
You don't give your age. This will effect insurance rates and may impact your license status.Is this what you're really worried about? |
