That's called, dimunition of value. If the other person had insurance, you can request that they pay you for that; if not, you can sue them directly in small calims court.
How much it's worth? Well, likely about 5% of your DAMAGES. So, if you had $2,000 of damages, dimunition *might* be worth $100. |

Some states allow for dimished value and some dont. Call your insurance commissioners office and they will tell u if your state allows it. I know Georgia does for example |

You can go after them for several things, such as lost wages. But for the diminished value of the car, you will have some trouble. I would personally go to them for a settlement with that as one of the items as support for why they owe you, but they probably will not pay fo the diminished value of a car that has already been repaired (restored). |

If they have paid to repair your car (restore it to pre-accident condition), they are not going to pay extra for your perceived "future devaluation" of the car. |

The other party-at-fault is responsible for your bodily injury, your auto damage, and any thing pertaining to the accident because she was negligent. An auto is constantly loosing value from the day it drove off the dealership lot. Your job at this point is to contact the other party's insurance and get things squared away before the deadline runs out. |

They’ll pay your rental, your medical bills & the cost of repairing your car. I’ve never heard of being paid for the loss in value. Your car lost value the moment you drove it off the car lot, even before this accident. |
