If he fired you because something you did wrong, no I wouldn't use him as a reference. Atleast try to get unemployment, but don't stop looking for a job! |

As long as you weren't doing something maliscious to get fired, you should not have a problem getting unemployment compensation. Apply as soon as you can. You don't need to use prior employer as a reference if you don't want to. |

so long as you were not fired for insubordination or something similar, you should be able to get unemployment benefits - sign up online for your state TODAY-don't wait |

If you were let go for cause, probably not. If it was for job performance or something like that, you likely will be able to. Either way, apply and see what comes of it.

You should list the company on your resume, but no personal reference. Your next employer will ask why you left, you will need to come up with a truthful answer. If your new employer calls your old employer, they can get sued if they don’t tell the truth. That’s why most employers only say acceptable answers when someone calls them, like how long you worked there only. Companies don’t like law suites |
