I like to get insurance on my belongings. How do I go about it ?
I do not own my place, I just rent it, but I have lot’s of nice stuff and like to insure everything. I mean, if the place burns down, or somebody breaks in I like to be covered. I’ve heard, that my landlords homeowner insurance wont cover my stuff if something happens. So does anyone know a insurance agency that will insure my belongings ? And how much would it cost ?

As others have mentioned, it's called "Renters" or "Tenants" insurance, and any company that insures homes will offer this policy as well.

If you want more information on this type of insurance, check out: http://www.insuranceguide101.com/renters-insurance/. This page will give you more to think about when you purchase your insurance.

Most insurance companies offer renter's insurance. Check around. Get several quotes. Make sure you know what documentation they will require in order to pay a claim.

Also check into replacement insurance. It isn't much--maybe $25/year--but if you have it, they will pay you the item's replacement value, rather than its depreciated value.

Go to your local agent and ask for a tenant policy. You have to choose the amount of insurance you want to be covered for and they will write you a policy. Consider how much it would cost you to replace everything if there was a fire.

The insurance is called "Renter Insurance", all insurance companies that insure home owners carry it. Just go to an office and ask. The average policy is $100 - $125 per year. Depends on what you want insured, make certain that you read all the fine print carefully.

It is called a Tenant Homeowner policy or a Renters policy. Call you auto agent if you have one because you may be able to get a discount on both policies if they are written by the same company. If you have high value items such as jewelry they need to be specifically scheduled to be covered for theft. Talk to an agent and she/he can advise you.

Call any brokerage or big names, depending on what country you're in. Shoot for /$30,000 to cover everything (more or less depending on what you have). It's usually around 100-200$

Some places call it a contents policy and others call it renters insurance. Make sure you figure up what your items are worth. If you own the stove and fridge take that into consideration. If you have an extensive wardrobe consider that also. If the place burns down you have to figure you will need to replace everything from the soap, food in your fridge to your tv.

Contact an insurance office and talk to them about "renters insurance". I am not sure how much it cost, I don't think it's expensive though.

Any local agent would be happy to do this. Start with the guy that give you your car insurance. It should run less than $200 a year, for up to $20,000 of coverage.
