I live on a fixed income and I need health insurance. Are there programs available that will help me?
Your state should have some type of program available for low income families. Just need to contact your local Job and family services department in your area. (Welfare office) they are the ones who also handle medical too.

Apply for medicaid through your local welfare department, if your income is low enough, you will get it free

Honey, 99% of the US lives on a fixed income. My family income sure doesn't fluctuate month to month!! There ARE government programs out there to help with health insurance. Medicare, for those over 65 or disabled, Medicaid, for low income, and EVERY STATE has a "chips" program, children's health insurance program, to cover kids.
