I lost my unemployment ( or it's being on hold until an interview with an agent) because i mentioned that i was going to school. The representtive said it may not be a big deal, that they just want to know if , . the the schooling is effecting my availability to work and if it isnt they will give back what they owe me. I am very depressed that by telling them i am taking a few classes to better my career; made me loose my checks. you should tell them the truth. Anything else would be fraud, which could land you a lawsuit and a nice room at the county's law enforcement hotel. Okay, you probably wouldn't go to jail, but you'd be in deep legal Sh!+
Talk to the representative. The main thing is that they want to make sure that you're trying to work. If you have given up on getting a job, then you don't qualify for unemployment. If you are taking day classes and actively trying to find a night job, then you probably still qualify, as long as you're willing to actually accpet a night job when you find one. |

I also recently lost my unemployment for going to school nights 3 classes a week.
i was able to get on a training unemployment program. i didn't catch the area you live in but here in oregon the regular unemployment people treated me like a total idiot for not signing up with this program initially.
They expected me to already know there was special unemployment for people in college and i lost 6 weeks of unemployment because they don't care about you.
A quick Google search for training unemployment showed at least 10 different states with a special training unemployment division.
look into it this is your best bet. TUI removes the need for weekly job search requirements while you are attending qualifying school. qualifying school is basically anything that counts as a continuing education course.

Just tell them that you are looking for work and are available for work. Give them a list of places that you looked if they ask. You don't have to be looking for a job 24 hours a day. |

EI will pay for school but you have to ask first. Tell them that you only go to school at night. You must prove that it is not full time. |

I know when I lived in NJ they didn't give unemployment to students, which is retarded, but I wouldn't lie. They have ways of finding out. If anything tell them you're only a part time student. It's ridiculous in my opinion. You're going to school for an education so you can GET a good job but in the meantime they won't give you your own money. Just another thing that's wrong with our govt. Talk to them, see what the deal is and if worse comes to worse, put school on hold or, screw what I said and yeah, tell them you're not going anymore. |

They limit the amount of classes you can take as they rationalize that looking for employment - not going to school - should be your first priority. If you can prove that you're only taken a couple of classes as night or on weekends, you'll be fine. Otherwise, if the classes interfere with your availability to look for work, you'll be disqualified |

sorry if i might as well hardly understand your sentences.
you better should be straight forward with your employers about
your classes if it WILL affect your work so it wont make things complicated/confusing. but, if it doesnt, then i dont think you should. nevertheless, honesty for me, is still the best policy. lol
