You're paying for how many people? I figured out the $146 a week would be $584 a month. That's not shabby if it's for more than one person. I pay almost $400 a month for just me. My parents pay $675 a month for the two of them. Compared to us, you're ahead of the game! |

Insurance rates have sky rocketed. If you have been charged $480.00 a month for I'm assuming medical insurance for your whole family, that didn't sound too outrageous. But I understand that your rate is now increasing.
I'm a single woman in my 50's with no kids, and my company is paying for my medical insurance through Blue Cross at a monthly rate now of about $350.00 a month. So you've got a better deal!
I would make some calls or go on line to Blue Cross, Kaiser, (depending upon your area), and Health Net. Those are the ones that come to mind, and compare rates.
It also depends sometimes if you or anyone in your family has pre-existing conditions. If that be the case, your rates depending upon your plan, may be higher.

There is no such thing as affordable health insurance. Hospital expenses are high, doctor's fees are high, and the insurance company has to make a profit to pay its employees and stay in business. I don't have insurance for my wife because I can't pay for it. You can't beat the price you gave and get worthwhile benefits. |

The plan that I have is not insurance but health discount benefits, I am not sure if this will help you but I pay 59.95 for a family and 49.95 for an individual. The price includes Dental, Vision, Pharmacy, Chiropractic, as well as Health. Sorry if it is not for you but I was greatful to get the info when I was looking for a health plan. Hope it helps. |
