You need to go online or speak to a specialist insurer who deals with Student Contents Insurance.
Alternatively speak to your parents as they may have an extension on their own policy to insure student contents that are either in a Halls of Residence or a rented room as you say. Some of these policies automatically provide student contents cover so it's worth asking your parents to check their policy booklet or phone their own insurance company.

We use Norwich Union, we pay around £200.00 per year for a 4 bedroom house, with 2 reception rooms large kitchen bathroom and shower room.
That is for buildings and contents.
We did shop around. If their prices go up when we renew we will search for someone else via the net. |

Ask yourself this....if you had a fire tonight, would you have the money to replace everything in your flat? If you couldn't go out and rebuy everything tomorrow, you should probably have it. I'm an insurance adjuster. I just had an insured yesterday who had very little belongings. She and her husband were just starting out and really didn't have much, but everything they did own was totally destroyed when their flat burned down. She told me when I was leaving that she had been planning to cancel her policy because she didn't have that much stuff and it felt like an unneccesary bill. Now she's grateful she had it.She never dreamed she would have a fire. |
