You start at the agent who writes your business insurance. It's going to cost YOU more, because when you were on the group plan, your EMPLOYER picked up a hefty part of the costs.
There's not really a "best price". You get what you pay for. For a lower price, you have to take less coverage, and higher deductibles, that's just how it is. For a low deductible comprehensive plan, for one healthy 35 year old, it's going to cost about $350 a month. |

If you are self employed or a small company
then it is a bit more complicated. Especially if
you want to get similar benefits as a large corporation
for a similar price. I suggest to look into a combination
of health-savings-account compatible insurance
and my simple card. The combination will actually
save you money and coverage starts with your
first visit. |

Also check your yellow pages for insurance brokers who sell individual health insurance policies. |

More than likely you will not be able to get the good rate with all the perks you were getting when you were with an employer. If you are self-employed and have at least 2 employees who are willing to partake in insurance, then you will be able to get a group rate for a small business. Alot of states give you a discoune on small business health insurance if you are a memeber of the chamber of commerce for the city in which your business resides.
If such is not the case, then try this company. I had the hardest time getting insurance and got turned down umpteen times and they helped me!
