IAN, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I don't understand all the fine print of my policy, but my home insurance agent is always a phone call away. Try contacting your agent or a homeowners agent in your city. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Home-Insurance.html They should be able to assist you. |

Should be ..but check the small print as some companies say you can't make a claim for the first 30 days.. |

~~It is fine since you are covered. However weigh the consequences of maybe having a premium hike versus the cost of replacing the item you need to claim. I always ask my agent if it will end up costing me more money in the long run.~~ |

Perfectly ok. That's what it's there for, if you have a genuine claim then please don't worry about it. |

If something has happened yes, but your future policy may end up being a lot higher. |

Yes you can make a claim - but expect them to be suspicious. |

you can claim on your policy from the date you took out the policy.
however if the claim is for subsidence or something that may have happened before the inception date, then they will most likely send out an assessor and if they feel it happened before the inception date you would need to consult your previous insurer.
good luck, hope this helps xx |

As long as the date the incident occurred which you want to claim for is after the date the insurance policy was started, then you will be OK. The only exception is to do with subsidence which is a bit more complicated |

Well it does look a tad sus. Two weeks in & your making a claim.....Do not get me wrong you could be an hour in to the insurance & you spill coffee on your cream carpet. |
