Medical insurance is not going to pay you for work missed, and your employer is not responsible to keep paying you while you can't work. If your state has mandatory disability insurance, you would be able to apply.

As far as the health insurance goes, if 2 months is the standard waiting period and you were not enrolled, you can file a complaint with the Department of Labor. If you were to be enrolled retroactively, it would be difficult to get the insurance company to pay the bills. Your best bet is to file suit against the employer for failing to follow his own guidelines of eligibility. If you were to be enrolled, since you are not working now, you would be responsible to pay 100% of the monthly premium.

Your employer is not responsible for your bills or for your paycheck. And in fact they could fire you if they want to. You have no protection under FMLA because you haven't been with them long enough.

If you had been promised health insurance after 2 months when you started, and didn't get it, you should have asked about it 3 months ago.

I highly doubt it.

It depends on which state you live. In California you would be illegible for State Disability Insurance benefits based on your weekly income prior to your injury. You would also be able to sue(maybe not a good idea if you want to return there) in small claims court for up to, I believe a maximum of $7500. This sum will not be enough to cover your med bills.
You should talk to your employer about either retroactive enrollment in there health plan based on your date of eligibility

Your employer owes you nothing out of his pocket.

Your medical bills will be paid by your health insurance. If the company benefits state that you will get insurance after 2 months than you should have it.

Your paycheck is questionable. Your employer does not have to pay you outside of the benefits that are promised. That might be a week or 2 of sick pay, a week or 2 of vacation and possibly short term disability. Outside of that you are on the hook.

Ashley
Try for disability- but without health/accidental insurance, you will not get any compensation.

Only if your job is playing in the NBA. Otherwise, it sounds like you're probably S.O.L.

That is your fault for taking a job without health insurance. Live and learn....you are responsible for your medical bills and unless you signed up for any sort of disaility insurance, they dont owe you squat.

No, you don't get paid if you don't work. No, the employer isn't responsible for your medical payments.

That's like saying, ok, I mow your lawn once a week for $25. If I get in a car accident, I want you to keep paying me, even though I'm not mowing your lawn. Oh, and by the way, I want you to pay all my medical bills, too.

Sheesh. Think this through. If the shoe was on the other foot, you'd be screaming up a storm.
