1. Set and prioritize your goals - what you define as "successful". Is it a certain career or income level? A certain level of health/fitness/weight? Being in a particular type of relationship? Etc. Be ambitious but realistic.
2. Plan your work, then work your plan. List the steps necessary toward each goal, e.g. saving up for a down payment on a house, getting your 120 credits for a bachelor's degree, conditioning yoursel for a marathon, etc. Then carry out your plan. When you're presented wtih an opportunity that varies from the plan, give careful thought before pursuing it.
3. You can't manage what you can't measure. Keep a journal or log book to monitor your progress toward your goals. Allow yourself small rewards for hitting certain milestones; choose rewards that support your goals. For instance, if you're trying to manage your weight, treat yourself to a new running outfit when you drop 10#, not to a steak dinner.
4. Find outside sources of reinforcement. Get a running partner or study partner, join a investors club, job club or singles network, find a work mentor, etc. A fresh, objective review of your goals and progress can motivate you and keep you honest.
5. Periodically - every 6 or 12 months - reevaluate your goals. Is getting that house still a priority? Is it still realistic given your circumstances? |

attitude
by Charles Swindoll
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

I think "taking risk" is very important to be successful....max the risk, max are the chances of becoming successful....i m telling this cos i havent taken that much risk in life, hence i cant say myself to be successful... |

I think that depends on what you define as success. for me, success is to be happy with your life and accomplishments and experiences.. To many it has to do with a career and money. I'm guessing yours is the Carree? Right.. Do the typical collage thing.. Learn as much as you can in the field you choose and make your way up.. heads up though.. Most people don't get jobs in the same field they went to school for.. i would find a trade if i were you. Good luck. |

Find something that interests you a lot! Then go to school and study on that topic! Enjoy your career and don't worry so much about money! Then you will be successful. |

A person who is happy with himself is the utmost importance --followed by the maturity to handle whatever comes along in life. A disciplined person with integrity and high values and respect for himself and others takes the lead over a job. A person who is doing a job he really really likes, never "works" a day in their life.Success is never measured by the stature of a position at work, or the money a person has. It's what they do with what they have makes them a success. All the possessions in the world mean nothing if a person doesn't have what we have discussed. The poorest people in the world that find the simple pleasures in life are admirably the most successful |

Two things will accomplish this,
working hard
-and-
persistence
keep doing what you like to do and work hard at that then chances are that you will be a success. |

The amount of time you stay in school will exponentially affect how much your income is down the road. I know you shouldn't just pick a job based on how much money it makes, you'll be unhappy, but just think that, all this time in schools is just the pre-job stuff, and then you'll be rollin' in the benjamins!

Lie, cheat, steal, and don't get caught.
Millions of people work very hard their entire lives and end up old and penniless. When opportunity presents itself, go for it. If you are willing to compromise any morals you may have, you can do very well. |
