laptop computers can be a rather tricky buy at times, I would suggest that you look out for the cheapest and yet latest laptop or notebook computers on the market, the best way to do this is on what they call warehouse sale markets some of them are also online.
these warehouse owners have a service where they sell desktop computers to normal customers like you and me, however with very reduced prices due to the fact that they do not have as much costs as normal shops do.

Check out Dell.
Make sure it has, at least, 512 MB of RAM (more is better); speed must be no less than 2 gigahertz; at least 80 gigabytes of hard disk space; w/ cd-RW; modem; at least 2 USB drive; at least windows XP sp2;
Stay away from used computers unless you know how to fix one if something goes wrong. i am sure another reader will suggest more. (this is my idea of cheap...sorry) |

Browse the used laptops on Ebay, and get the best specc'ed one you can afford..... but make sure it's made by either DELL, IBM or TOSHIBA.
Also DELL usually sell reconditioned laptops on their webite somewhere. |
