If your items are recovered before your claim is solved you will get them back, and the claim will be dismissed. If not, it depends on your insurance, sometimes with replacement insurance, you must prove that you replaced what was burgled! If you don't have replacement coverage, the items taken will be pro-rated by age, unless you have a clause for them on your policy, like for an expensive coat, or heirloom jewelery. |

Scott W has the best advice- contact and discuss with your company.
Ask questions like " Do I have replacement cost? What articles do not qualify for replacement cost? Do I actually have to replace these items?" Remember something very important; insurance is contract between you and your company. They will require you fill out forms, and 'do' things in a particular way. Try to remember, unlike some of the advice above, they are not there to screw you. They are there because you contracted with them for a service. Unfortunately, it is time for them to deliver on their promise. Your company only gets involved in a claim process when something bad has happened. Take your time with this. Ask questions. |

They compensate you for your loss in the form of money. They don't do your shopping for you. |

You will get money. |

After all the paper work is returned, they will process the claim and issue you a check. If after that time, the police are able to recover the items, you will need to notify your insurance company as the property now belongs to them. The insurance company will likely sell the items as salvage to recover some of their costs. If the claim has not been settled and the items are recovered, they might discuss with you how you want the claim to settled. If you have concerns about the property and its conditions, let them know. |

If burglars took your stuff, the insurance company doesn't have it, so they can't give it back. If the police find your stuff you will get it back, but your insurance won't pay you for the stuff that got returned. |

Depends on your policy, but when it happened to us, we bought replacement items, and turned in the receipts. The agent cut us a check on the spot. |

They will probably give you the money equivilant, unless somehow your items were able to be recovered from the burgler. Then, I would assume your items would come back to you. What sucks is they will more than likely give you the equivilent of the items at the time they were puchases, and will factor in depreciation, any damage...I swear to god insurance companies try to find ways to screw you in every way they can...keep your ducks in a row and document EVERYTHING...good luck! |

i hope that yesterday you called the police and made a report. also you should have taken pictures of the house when you first saw it. you need to make a list of everything that was taken from you. im sorry this happened to you. my house was broken into a few months ago its cause of the unemployment rate good people are becoming desperate. they will not give you your items they will cut you a check to replace the items and i hate to give you bad news they wont give you what you paid for the items they will give you what the items are worth today. so sorry. good luck! |

if you manage to get anything out of the insurance company, it will definitely be money, they won't go shopping for you. |

you will get a check from the insurance company. you will probably need a proof of purchase to claim what was taken from the house. for example, the burglars took your 60in plasma, can you show proof that you had a 60in plasma? the insurance company wants to make sure your claim is valid.
sorry for you loss. |

They'll probably send you a check. It's a lot easier for them that way. imho. But this really depends on the details of your contract. |

They'll compensate you for the value of the stolen property. |

they will just come to see if things were broken and get your side of the story. and ask for a list of things missing with values. like computers, jewelry, TVs, things like that. home owners should just cut you a check for the stuff. the police will be on the look out in pawn shops in case your stuff turns up there. you can check with pawn shops in your area yourself as well. |
