~~You need to file a police report and give the police all the responsible parties information. Contact your insurance and see if you carry uninsured motorists insurance, if so then it will cover the repairs.
If not, then your only recourse is to take them to court and sue for damages. Then you have to hope they have the funds or some way to collect your money for the judgment you will surely receive. Good luck!~~ |

The first thing to do is alert the police and have a report detailing the circumstances of the accident.
The next thing is to immediately notify your insurance company, they will handle your claim.
The repair costs are not affected by the other person.
Only your premiums are effected if the accident was your fault. |

You file a claim with your insurance company. Hope you carry collision and UM coverage. While you theoretically can sue the other driver, even if you win a judgment against him, your chances of actually collecting money are slim. |
