If I opt for the rental car insurance, can I get away with crashing it into all sorts of stuff?
Well, first of all, you'll probably be blacklisted from further rentals. Secondly, just because you buy the rental insurance, that doesn't mean your license won't get points, because IT WILL!! So you'll still end up with a surcharge on your policy.
Your call.

Car rental Insurance is to protect you in case of an accident, not deliberate destruction of property. If the rental companies insurance actually thought that the damages were caused by neglect and/or intent, you could find yourself in a court battle costing you alot more than the Car Rental, etc. And most people cannot afford to go head-to-head with insurance companies. If you want to crash into things, buy a used "beater" car, and find a local demolition derby!!!

lol nope!

Not if you want to pay regular rates on your personal auto insurance. You will be charged on your personal auto policy for ANY at fault accident you have, even if the rental car company pays the damages.

no, becasue you'll still be liable and points still get put on drivers liscense and you'll ruin your credit, because the rental company will blacklist you...

No they (in the US) ask who your insurance carrier is. In case you walk away from a accident. They will just bill you insurance comp and they in turn will raise your rates or drop you.

Not unless your insurance company covers you with rentals.
