On licensing, you go to www.insurance.ca.gov. This will tell you what you want to know. Best company/ product? This is reallly subjective in nature. Depends on what you want to do- life insurance, LTC, securities, auto, home boat/rv/motorcycle.

Answer this question first; What is it I want to get out of my career in sales, do I want to make a difference in peoples lives or is my primary goal to make as much money as possible? After 17 years in the life and health area of insurance I can honestly tell you the people that are the most successful and longest lasting are those who earn money as a by- product of caring for and doing their best for the client and their families. Insurance is often treated in the media and editorials as just another commodity but I assure you that being able to produce the right amount of money where and when it is most needed impacts families and lives like nothing else ever could.
There is no best company for every policy, different companies excel in different areas. My suggestion is to find a company that is sound, has a long history that you can identify with and be proud to offer a solution for the primary focus of your practice. For the other lesser areas of focus choose companies that excel in those area thereby giving your client who is trusting your advice the best solutions.
Finally don't try to be all things to all people do what you do best and farm out to other agents what they do best, you can do this by splitting cases.
Check with the CA dept of commerce to see what licenses will be appropriate. Good luck, families can always use another good and caring agent. |

AFLAC!!!! In my opinion you won't ever find a better insurance company to work for!!! I love selling Aflac supplemental insurance because I truly believe in our product-that makes it a breeze to sell!!! Call headquarters @ 1-800-992-3522 or go to www.aflac.com You will need to get your life, accident and health license. Once you get in touch with headquarters they will let you know who the Regional Manager is in you area and then they will better assist with getting your insurance test taken ( that's the first step )! Aflac is always hosting "career nights" so maybe you can catch one of those! Let me know if you need any more help and Good Luck!!! |
