The bill is designed to slow the growth of health care costs, not eliminate the increases (which is next to impossible). Costs have been going up for years and will continue to go up - its just a matter of how much. |

According to my insurance agent, there will be cost increase for most plans this year as insurance cos need to make adjustments to conform to the new requirements in the bill. After that cost increases should (hopefully) level off in the following years.
The cost of the plan for my small company went up significantly this year, but the bill also included tax credits for small companies that provide health ins, so I'm hoping it will even out in the end. |

The main part of the law giving everyone the chance to buy insurance from the exchange without regard to condition, starts in 4 years. You can get insurance with a subsidy if you qualify or a tax credit.
Insurance companies will have to cover everyone regardless of condition and there will be more claims filed because more people will get medical care, so insurers are getting as much $ as they can before the time comes when they actually have to pay out on claims, which is what they are for. But they are so used to being greedy and saving money by not covering people they dont want to lose any profit and are getting it now. |

Because your private health insurance company CEOs are a bunch of robber barons. There needs to be regulations in how much medical procedures, medication and insurance can charge you. They are obviously inflating prices. "Obama's" health insurance bill is supposed to give another option for people which will force the private insurance companies to stop ripping us off and get with the program. The full bill doesn't take effect for 5 years (closer to 4 now) and only increments are being made yearly until it fully takes off. We are one of the only non-third world countries without governmental health. |
