OK, this is not written very effectively. Are you asking, if a man has a life insurance policy on his wife, and she doesn't know about it (which can't happen, as she has to sign off on it), and he dies, can she continue the policy? They will send him a bill, because they don't know he's dead. Then she opens it, gets the info, and has the policy ownership transferred to her so she can pay the bill.
Or are you asking, if he has a policy on himself and dies, will the insurance company notify her that it exists and pay her? Well the insurance company doesn't KNOW he's dead, until SOMEONE files a claim. So no. Someone has to file the claim first, then the beneficiary gets paid. |

If I am understanding your question right, the wife would have known about the policy. You can't just go off and buy insurance on someone and the insured not know. I have a policy for my grandson but my daughter(his mother) had to be notified in writing by the insurance company. |

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. It all depends on if his agent finds out about his death. Not only that, but the wife will need to produce the policy in order to claim benefits. |

Your question is a little hard to follow but I think what you're asking is "if a man has been paying for a life insurance policy for his wife and hasn't told her, will the insurance company let her know if he dies without telling her?" First of all, the insurance company would only pay on a life insurance policy on the wife if the wife died. Second of all, it is unlikely the wife would be notified since the insurance company would probably not receive any formal notification of the man's death unless his insurance agent found out. If the insurance agent knew the wife, he might be the one to notify her of the policy. Another way the wife might find out would be if she received premium due notices addressed to her husband after his death. If no premium continues to be paid, the life insurance policy on the wife would eventually be cancelled by the insurance company due to non-payment of premiums due. Every insurance company has its own procedures that it follows in such cases. |
