What do you do when you tell your insurance company not to pay a claim and they do?
About 10 years ago, I hit a works van driven by a lad aged about 18. I was in a fiat uno. I was turning right at a T-junction because a bus had stopped to let me out. The van went round the bus and we met. I appreciate that it was my fault (although I did not admit it to the young lad!!) but I just had a cracked bumper. Apparantly I caused over Â£5,000 damage to his van. I told my company to look into this - but they just paid up, and would not tell me which parts of the van were allegedly damaged in the accident. My premiums went through the roof. I was told that if I queried it, I would have trouble getting insurance again (from an insurance broker). What should I have done?

(a friend of mine wanted to know as he was getting his first car aged 23 but did not want to get a car he could not afford.) You do not seem to be able to get a quote until you have the car!

When you are on holiday and lose something expensive, like a camera, should you claim on your holiday or home insurance? Is it possible for wind damage to be covered on insurance, or is it deemed an act of god? What if you have marine insurance, and your boat is blown away or sunk? Is that an act of god?

These are all questions I have been asked to look up on the internet, by my children or personal experience and would love to know the answers! I hope they at least get you thinking for your exams, and wish you all the best!
