Most likely they will. Depends alot on the doctor too. Some doctors don't send you anything in the mail, they just give you a receipt, but if you're under age, and you do happen to test positive, they will contact your parents immediately. |

Your insurance company cannot reveal that information to your parents.
BTW - before you have any STD screenings done at your annual, make sure they are actually covered by your insurance policy. Not all policies cover screening lab work for STDs, and if yours doesn't you could get stuck with a hefty bill. Do not make the mistake of assuming that just because your doctor's visit and a pap smear are covered that any other tests your doctor does at the visit will be covered also.
I used to work in customer service for a large insurance company - it was always interesting when a parent would call ticked off because their child had a $300 claim for "lab work" that wasn't covered. Of course, you couldn't tell them that their child went and had STD screenings done that weren't covered on the policy. (All I could say was that the claim was for screening lab work that wasn't covered on the policy.) They generally went ballistic, but it didn't do them any good...can't release those details because of privacy laws.
(Lab work done at your doctor's office has a pretty high sticker price - if you find out that you don't have coverage for screening STD tests, you should have them done at the health department instead. Bills for STD tests done at the gyno office can be $200-$300, depending on what you have done. Health departments generally charge less than $50, some people might even qualify for free testing.) |

Why should they be obliged to pay for your insurance?

No, they won't. All they'll see is a doctor visit. They won't see the KIND of doctor, any testing done, or any diagnosis. I don't advocate lying to your parents, but if you told them you had a sore throat, they won't find out anything different. |
