If i get my wisdom teeth out, do i use my medical or dental insurance?

Yes, dental insurance. There are very rare instances where medical insurance pays for "mouth work." Typically medical plans will pay for mouth work only in emergency situations like accidents or severe trauma. Wisdom teeth extraction should be covered under your dental plan.

However, be sure to check your dental plan to see how it covers the extraction. Dental plans range from simple discount cards, to comprehensive coverage so reimbursements can be anywhere from $0 to the full cost of the procedure and follow up visits. Dental insurance is often different than medical insurance since most reimburse on a fixed fee schedule.

Good luck and have fun!

It's covered under your dental plan.

Dental, of course, if your dentist recommends it.

Health insurance does not pay for normal dental work. It will pay for reconstruction of your mouth, teeth, etc., if you were involved in an accident and sustained injuries to that area.

Dental.

It depends on your insurance policies. I know someone who got wisdom teeth pulled and it took awhile to figure out which insurance was going to pay what. The initial exam was paid by dental but the procedure was paid by health.

Dental. Medical insurance would only come into play if you were admitted to the hospital for the procedure - which is VERY rare. (Medical insurance will not cover anything to do with teeth - even an infection.)

It depends from your insurance policy.
Try this one - http://healthplans.bebto.com - my family have their health insurance - it is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.
