jaeleeamari2904 | If i have had my issurance policy for 3 years how much can I borrow off of it? |

Likely nothing. You haven't been paying into it long enough to have ANY kind of cash value.
As a rule, IF you have a cash value type policy, about 10% of what you pay into it, goes to cash value, AFTER the first five years. And you can only borrow the cash value part.
But you'd have to call your company and ask them to be sure. |

probably nothing, You generally have to pay into it for 3 years before you start to accumulate dividends.
Find the policy that you received when you first took it out. There will be a speculative illustration that will tell you how much they predicted would be available to you after 3 years. |

If it is a Term policy, you can borrow zero.
If it is a permanent policy, then check your policy illustration. You should have this filed somewhere with the policy documents. The actual amount will depend on how much you spend each month to keep your policy in force. Unless it is a large face amount, I doubt you'll have more than a $1000 ro $2000 in cash value.
Call you agent if you cannot find the illustration. |

Sorry to say, not very much if you have any type of cash value. In three years you MAY have as much as $1000-1500. Maybe. You should contact your insurance company for an exact figure. Savings and insurance should not be pooled together- meaning ANY cash value insurance.
If separated you could borrow as much or as little as you wanted, pay yourself interest, and receive the money the same day. This cannot be said for borrowing money from an insurance company. They view that money as theirs and treat it that way. You can only decide on how much you want to borrow- borrowing is the reason why there is no tax penalty. You WILL pay interest back to the CO. and they can make you wait for up to 6 months before they give you YOUR money. |

Contact the INsurance company and ask them. Usually policies that build cash value, build very little -or nothing, depending on your age- in the first years of the policy. |

Only your company or agent will know. Anything else we say is pure speculation.
If your question had been "how much should I borrow from my policy?", I would probably advise against it. Please promise me you will order an "inforce illustration" showing the impact of the loan before you ask to pull your money out. I have seen too many bad things happen |
