If you want cheap, try going through an insurance broker. A broker works with lots of companies, instead of just one, and knows which ones offer the lowest rates in the different areas you mention. The broker can get the best price for the coverage that’s right for you. It’s like that commercial: “When (blanks) compete, you win.” When health insurance companies compete, you win, too. Also, since the broker wants to stay in business and gain referrals, he or she will point you only to reputable companies.

To find a broker in your area, log on to a site like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and complete the “request a quote” form. The form will go to a broker in your area who will contact you. The quote is free, and you are not obligated to buy. Good luck!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

In my case, I use three companies:
21st century was cheapest for auto, but didn't offer home.

I use State Farm for home, even though they will give me a discount if I get auto. The discount isn't big enough.

I use Genworth for life insurance.

Keep in mind that if your auto/home company gives you a discount for life insurance, you only need to take out one small life policy to get the auto/home discount. Sometimes, this will make a little life insurance free or cheaper than free.

It usually is. I have my auto and home insurance through the same company and they give me a discount.

Shop around because there are huge differences in premiums from company to company, but most will offer a discount of some sort if you have multiple policies through one company.

Some types of insurance are not sold by some companies. Generally companies that sell life insurance don't sell car insurance and vice versa.

However you will frequently get a discount if you buy homeowners and auto insurance from the same company. If they sell travel insurance that should hold as well.

I don't think this will apply to life insurance, especially term life.

The best bet is to just use a comparison quote site so that you can see for yourself how much things can cost or how much you can save. They are a real time saver.

Yes, many companies will give you a discount if you buy both your car and home insurance from them. It depends on the company though.

go to http://www.urmall.co.uk we list household name companies for life, car, house and travel and their online discounts, as far as cheaper through the same people goes i don't know sorry, there is one company listed that insures for all of the above but when looking at the price of their travel insurance there are other companies listed that are cheaper, so all i can say is get a quote for all the above, then get quotes for them seperately and see which works out cheapest, it may be a pain to do, but it will save you money.

Home and auto insurance together will diffidently get you a discount. Life insurance is stand alone and usually won't give any discounts to other polices.
I would still recommend having all your insurance through one agent. You'll have one number to call and one company to deal with for all your insurance needs. Plus, most agents will bend over backwards to make you happy if you're bringing them all this business.

welcome news
Some insurance companies give multi-policy discounts and there are one or two brokers who offer similar combined policies but in general a company that is good for one aspect of insurance may not be suitable for your other requirements.

Against that you have to consider the increased time and effort to ensure all your policies are correct and remember who insures what.

My advice - go to your local insurance broker and arrange them to look after all your needs - they may spread the risks around but at least you will know that - If it's insurance then I must contact ............

It depends on the company, but many do offer discounts if you buy all your policies through the same company. Just ask your insurance agent.
