No, that product is not for sale - because only people planning on having babies would buy it.
Or rather, you can buy a health policy WITH maternity benefits, but there's a wait period for the maternity - usually up to a year. so any pregnancy in the FIRST year, wouldn't be covered. |

If you're talking stand-alone health policies, maternity is a rider they charge $$$ for. For group policies it would be unusual for no-maternity coverage.
A health company would have to be smoking crack to sell a maternity-only policy. That would be like a braces-only policy for dental; the only people who would buy are the ones who want braces. (in the biz they call that adverse selection) I'd have to say no. |
