Depends on the policy. There are some "guaranteed issue" policies that insure anyone, no matter what - but they can't die within the first two years of the policy and collect.
Those aren't so common, but they are out there - the buy over the internet, or via mail flier, not through an agent. |

is should be payable, however most policies now have a suicide clause for 2-5 years so I guess it depends on how they died, also the other person had a good point if they find fraud on the application the policy will be void at which time they must return any premiums previously paid. |

What I don't understand is:
Are you saying that the insured dies BEFORE the insurance company receives the FIRST premium?
Are you saying that the insured dies prior to the insurance policy being matured / paid up / in full?
I recently purchased Term Life and the Insurance Broker said that it was up to the Insurance company if to pay prior to receiving that first premium.
Read the contract.
If it is still unclear, consult with an estate attorney.

Insurance is payable from the date on the policy. It doesn't matter if it's cashed in on that day or 2 years later, as long as the death happened within the policy period, the benefit should be paid. |
