and for those who are being rude...no i'm not the one with the case..my sister is 6 months pregnant and homeless because she was kick out of where she was living and i need her to come live with me so i can make sure she and my neice are taken care of...she's in no condition to work right now die to problems with her pregnancy so keep the rude comments to yourself and get a life. |

Medicaid and food stamps are all STATE RUN programs. So you'll have to reapply in the new state, after you change your residency. |

You do need to re-apply in the new state. She might want to have her current caseworker call someone in the new state to maybe speed things along - perhaps her case file can be copied and transferred that way, but she'd still have to apply fresh. |

Honey: Chances are that you need to contact the state agency where you are going and also phone the court house of your current state so that you may get some child support en-route for what's coming up.

You would have to start a new case but you can always call and inquire about the process. You can also request a letter at your present agency confirming you had a open case and closed it to move out of state. That may help ease the application process once you've moved to where you're going.
I do recommend that you use the system to your advantage and move out of it as soon as you can and be self-sufficient, productive for yourself and your child. Take advantage of any trainings they may offer or seek them elsewhere but make positive use of the time in your hands.
All is possible, you just have to set your mind to it. Plus, you're blessed with having a family that wants to help you. |

consider a job. or get some training so you will eventually be able to work / make yourself self sufficient.
loans for school just lowered signifcantly .
do not let yourself and baby be caught in welfare rut / systems nightmares for very long.
consider getting some childsupport from father of baby ? you and baby need place to live. money for diapers food etc.
make sure one state is better than other state for benefits ?
isn't housing granted fast for homeless pregnant women ? |

it depends on the state some let you transfer and some have totally different programs and you need to reapply. can you find out what they have before you move. |
