Well, you'd have to get the policy prior to being convicted of a felony (I'm guessing life underwriters would pick up "convict" in the occupation field). Also someone would have to pay the premiums while you're incarcerated.
But if the policy is outside the contestability period (two years) yes they would pay out. |

Sometimes. Many policies have a "governmental action" exclusion. So it depends on if your policy has that or not. |

Read the exclusions listed on the policy in question. That will answer your question. |

The answer "If you're on death row, they are at 100% loss, because you will die, sooner than later" does not make sense:
1) Everyone dies eventually, 100% of the population dies sooner or later
2) The vast majority of persons put on death row are not executed. In some states, none are. Even in states that do eventually execute, many persons have their sentences overturned. |

Depends on the clauses in your policy. Policies carry many hidden exclusions. If that is not an exclusion, then the policy would be valid as long as the premiums are paid on time. |

I don't think so. If you're on death row, how are you going to pay for it. Are you going to manage your finances from your jail cell. Insurance companies make their money predicting when the average human is going to bite the dust. If you're on death row, they are at 100% loss, because you will die, sooner than later. They won't cover you. I'd bet it. I hope this answers your question. |
