No private policy you can buy now is going to cover the pregnancy.
Your best bet is to apply under your state Children's Health Insurance Program, for the baby - in most states, that will cover your prenatal care and delivery. |

If an insurance will accept you, they will preclude coverage
for pregnancy anyways. Your best option is a non-insurance
card, such as MySimpleCard. It could save you 50% or more
on all pregnancy related services. |

We have "Healthy NY" in NY State. I'm sure other states have similar programs. |

I think it depends on what state you're in. In Michigan we have two programs, one is called MiChild and another is Healthy Kids. I know they cover the unborn child, but I'm not sure what kind of coverage they provide for the mother? Check around in your town for free clinics. And check with your local department of human services. There has GOT to be someone who will cover you. I'm guessing you make too much money to be on medicaid, so maybe you might have to go through a private insurance company such as blue cross/blue shield or whatever companies are in your area. I know it's kind of pricey, but it's important to have insurance when you're pregnant. Not to mention, the premium costs of a private insurer will be less than all the doctor bills and hospital fees if you are uninsured. You might want to do some research. Does your job offer insurance? Perhaps you should ask your Human Resources Department, even if you are not eligible for full time coverage (not sure of your working status...) they may still offer it at a discounted price? I'd definitely check with your health department first though. They usually know of the best organizations to go through and can suggest some really great resources for the baby as well :)
Hope this helps...and GOOD LUCK! I hope all the best for you both, and congratulations!!! |

Yes, but no plan is going to cover your maternity-related care right now. It's considered a pre-existing condition. I'm really sorry.
You might try searching for a local pregnancy center, sometimes called a crisis pregnancy center. Often they have resources for you to receive no or low-cost maternity and well-baby care. |

yes there is. i didnt have any insurance when i got knocked up.. go to a place like planned parenthood.. or any kind of walk in place and they will tell you who to talk to. most states will cover you, to a certain point after the baby is born.. then the baby for a year, or more.
if you still have trouble finding where to go feel free to email me and i'll do what i can to help more :)
oh and.. in a lot of work places you can jump on to their plans when pregnate, even if it's not time to renew policys.. you should look into that, it'd prolly be the easiest way. |

Yes there is an insurance that covers you and your baby. It is called Ameriplan and it is totally low cost all you have to do is go to this link http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40540074 and subcribe if you like what you see. Also once your baby is born he will be covered by the insurance as well. |

Assuming you have no chance of being covered on a group plan through an employer, make too much for government assistance, and have no other options, you are in a position that many others have found themselves...and there is an answer.
Most providers of maternity care bill on a, 'global," basis. In other words they charge one lump sum to the insurance company for all care up to and including delivery. In Arizona this amount ranges from $5000-$9000, averaging around $7000. The suggestion would be to negotiate a price with your doctor up front, your own global bill. The reality is that even if you had insurance on your own, with maternity coverage, you would have paid $7000-$9000 more in premium for this type of coverage. It is a classic, "Pay me now, or pay me later," situation.
Consider using a midwife, birthing center, etc., which may lower your cost by several thousand. Here is an example of such services in Arizona. Simply find a similar organization in your state. http://www.bwhcbirthcenter.com/....
Become a consumer, and you will thank yourself many times over. |

No and if you were to be accepted you being pregnant would qualify as a pre existing condition and not be covered anyway, probably should have thought about this a little sooner. |
