Insurance Companies and the Govt. Do they scratch each other's back?
How do both the Govt. plus Insurance companies benefit from forcing people to insure their items such as vehicles, houses, businesses? Furthermore, are Insurance companies insured?

Insurance companies have lobbyists like all companies do but they are not any more crooked than any other business.

As far as I know the only gov't required insurance is a small amount of car insurance (I live in Maryland) which even if you can't get coverage from a commercial insurance company then you can get coverage through a state run car insurance program.

Also, insurance companies have insurance in the form of re-insurance contracts between each other where they basically spread the risk of riskier people across to other companies. Plus, in my experience auditing insurance companies, the government keeps very tight watch over insurance companies in the form of cash requirements, monhtly audits etc to make sure that insurance companies can't even get close to not being able to pay their claims.

The government doesn't force you to insure your house or business. Your mortgage lender may but that's to protect their interest in your home.

Now that it turns out you're fundamentally wrong, would you like to change your rant.

You are only forced to insure your vehicle with liability coverage (unless you do not own outright). This protects innocent people from damage you may cause if in an accident. Wouldn't it suck if I rearended your car, had no money for you to pursue and no insurance? You would just be out of luck. With regards to government. The Dept of Insurance is a thorn in the insurance companies side. Their regulations and auditing are a pain in the *ss.

yes, insurance companies are insured, for a fee. It's called Reinsurance.

By forcing people to buy car insurance and unemployment insurance, government helps keep people off welfare (government poverty insurance) and mitigates hospital costs by injured parties.

Most insurance is NOT mandatory, but elective.

Insurance companies donate to campaign funds generously.

What you have to remember is that every government is basically and fundamentally corrupt.
Insurance companies just want to collect all the money in the world by giving people policies that dont cover everything you would expect them to.
In short we trust our lives to the people we should run from.

Well thats what I think anyway.
