~~The best advice is to call your agent and ask them what to do. Without knowing all the details and exactly how your personal homeowners policy is written- it isn't possible to give you a correct answer. Your agent will give you the info you need after hearing the whole story. I now our own policy coveres injuries, but I still would call my agent for the best advice on how to handle. If you need an answer tonight, many companies have a 24 hour emergency line (State Farm does), then you can find out immediately. Best of luck!~~ |

You don't pay unless you were negligent in some way. I get a few suckers every year hurt themselves on the property of the drugstore I manage. They always want to get something for nothing. But I tell them the same thing- if we weren't negligent and you (or another shopper) caused your accident, why would we be responsible? |

It's not automatic liability, just because he got hurt at your house. He has to sue you, and he has to show that you were negligent.
If he climbed a tree, and jumped down, that's not YOUR fault! If he tried to pick up your car, that's ALSO not your fault.
Your insurance company will handle the defense of your claim. |
