Insurance cancelled me because of material misrepresentation? What does this mean?
am a g1 driver, have been insured with same insurance company for 14 months. Recently had a car accident. When i filed a medical claim they cancelled me and told me becuase of material misreprersentation. Does any one know what this means?
Typically, that means there was something not accurate on your application that would have had a serious impact on whether or not your claim was valid or whether or not they would have approved your oroginal application in the way they did.
Basically, material misrepresentation is their way of saying you lied or provided inaccuate information on your application (whether on purpose or not) and we can prove it, but it's not big enough for us to worry about charging you with fraud.

They are saying the you provided false information either when you applied for the insurance or when you filed the claim.
A simple error is not material. Material means that if they had the accurate information, they would not have insured you or would have offered a significantly different policy and conditions.

Basically, you lied--or misrepresented the facts--on either the application or the claim.

I think it means that they believe you didn't tell them everything when you applied, or you lied on your appliaction
moonlightonalake
It means you lied to them, either on your original application, or when you made your claim. Contact the company and ask for clarification and details.

They did not like something you submitted, they think it was fraud. You should call the insurance company and find out exactly what they are talking about.
