No idea. I have had homeowners claims where this type of damage - water damage, over a period of time, that went unnoticed until something big happened, both covered, and denied, depending on how the policy was written.
The cost to reseal the bathtub would NOT be covered.
Also, you might want to check the shower pan, if it's that type of thing. They do wear out after a while, and have to be replaced. |

This sounds like "repeated seepage or leakage", which is not usually covered.
"perhaps i could say that i had a burst pipe then" sounds like insurance fraud. |

Sounds like the "shower pan" to me!
Depending on your policy forms, it may or may NOT be covered.
Don't wait around to see if it will get better because it WON'T! You need to file a claim ASAP so the adjuster/appraiser can see that it JUST happened and it is NOT something that has "been happening for a long period of time."

It depends what caused the water to leak. Without this crucial piece of information no one here would be able to say yes or no with any certainty.
BTW you can't just say, "It was a burst pipe" to the insurer. You have to determine the actual cause, not pick a covered peril and say it was that. If the actual cause turns out to an excluded peril your insurer is going to red flag your file for possible non-renewal as you would become a huge moral hazard. |

depends on whats causing it. if it was a sudden pipe burst then yes, more than likley it would be covered minus your deductible. |
