Where does an atheist stand against what is classed as an 'act of God'? |

An "Act of God" is actually a legal term in a contract meaning that the loss was caused by something that is out of people's control i.e. an earthquake, a flood, lightning, etc. |

I'm not sure an atheist would have much to say to be honest. The insurance companies classifications of what that "act of God" is is what's important. You can take it or leave it. |

I really don't think the insurance company cares if YOU are an atheist or not. But an "Act of God" is an incident which is out of your control. Car-deer hit, hail, vandalism. House-lightning, hail, fire, etc. Insurance companies DO pay on these. They are just considered a non-chargeable incident. It does not go against your claim history. Unless the specific incident is excluded on your policy it will be covered. |

"God" only means higher power. therefore, an "act of God" is an act of a higher power.....meaning lightning, windstorm, hail, air crafts falling, ect. Something that is out of human control. I'd advise you pretend you belive in God if you want your claim processed. |

It doesn't matter what an atheist thinks - "acts of God" are predefined by the insurance company and should be listed in the insurance policy. |
