Insurance for a Preschool?
What kind of insurance is needed when opening a preschool. I am anticipating twenty 3 year olds two days a week and twenty 4/5 year olds three days a week. The times for classes will be from 9am-12pm. I am just looking for a projected cost for insurance.
You'll likely need property insurance, which may or may not require building coverage in accordance with your lease; general liability coverage; workers comp coverage, and you might seriously want to consider an accidental injury policy for the kids while they are there, and abuse/molestation coverage. Note, the abuse/molestation only covers DEFENSE COSTS, not any judgement.
You're going to need to talk to a local, independent agent for real quotes, but I think you should budget $6,000 to $12,000 a year for the insurance, depending on the specifics.
