Cosmetic surgery is soooo expensive. I would like to have a ton of stuff done to myself, nothing serious though, but I cannot afford it. I was thinking about getting insurance that covers cosmetic surgery or maybe insurance that might cover electrolysis. If you know of any insurance companies that do please let me know. I know that some medical insurance companies will cover reconstructive surgery but that is not what I need. |

You won't find one insurance company that will cover anything that is not medically necessary.
Insurance is based on 'no-loss, no-gain' provisions and is for people who need it (ill-health, burn-victim, accidents, etc.).
Insurance is not for people who just want to change who they are because they don't like themselves.
In addition, if you do have cosmetic surgery and there are complications that arise from it, you would likely be declined short-term disability benefits if you missed work, as well. |

They will cover anything that is MEDICALLY NECESSARY. If this is not what you need, then you need to find a second job and save your money until you can afford what you want to have done. Maybe while you are working that second job, you can think about that "ton" of stuff and you'll realize it's really not all that important and use that money for something really special! |

Insurance doesn't cover cosmetic surgery. If you have 'no money' then the last things you should be thinking about are luxury items and services.
I'm guessing there's a better use for your money.

You will not find an insurance company that covers non-reconstructive cosmetic surgery. It would be a major financial loesr for the insurance company. |

I don't have an answer to your question; I've never actually heard of insurance for cosmetic surgery because as you say, it's not reconstructive surgery but I'm just wondering how bad can you be that you need a "ton" of stuff done? I see a lot of perfectly beautiful women get plastic surgery done on themselves and sometimes they have things done that make themselves looks so generic i.e. the small button nose, the hard as rock boobs etc.
When I was in grade school, one of my teachers asked us to write down everything we wanted to change about ourselves as an exercise. I wrote down all sorts of changes - different hair color, different color of eyes, change my nose, my chin - everything. And she wrote me back with one sentence which I'll never forget; She said: "I think you're beautiful just the way you are". I've never forgotten that. I'm sure we could all use a nip and tuck here and there but it's too bad that we're not happier with our appearances. Sometimes things that are different about our features make us unique.....

I really wish that i could help you but I cant. If all you need is cosmedic then its not a big deal.
I had a very severe case of ovarian cyst at the age of 16 i was given the birth control shot to help reduce them but not only did it not work i gained 40 lbs in less than 6 months and do to the very fast waight gain i have bad strech marks and my thighs suffered the worst of it thougth and now i cant walk with out the pain of my thighs rubbing together and the thin skin blistering.
I spend a lot of time in pain and crying if i cant get the sugery i really need to be able to walk without being in pain and blistering i dont really think that they will just simply give you sugery that you want and dont need. but thats just my opinion take it or leave it.
