when me and my son were in Minnesota last year, we had our vaccinations in a hospital, and my husband has no insurance yet at that time until now, the shots were so expensive that costs us 1500usd. we were trying to apply for an insurance so that we dont need to pay that much..but still i ahve no idea how, and my husband is so busy that he cant take care of that problem,.especially we dont live together now.. can we apply for health insurance and let that cover the expenses from our shots last year..i badly need help.. the hospital and the laboratory keep sending mails. |

You have one choice ..and this is to save your credit, as your new policy will not cover past expenses...
Here is my suggestion..
First -- pay the least affordable amount possible on those bills... ie $10 min. to avoid collections or negative credit reporting until you can pay more.
Then... call the hospital - let them know you intend to pay but can only afford a small amount until you work out your budget.
than do the same for the lab...
If you get a nasty person... DO NOT get nasty back... simply tell them you have to go and call back and ask for another person.
YOUR ONLY OBJECTIVE AT THIS POINT IS TO SAVE YOUR CREDIT... IF THIS IS DESTROYED,... ... you will never get credit for anything...and life will be difficult.. your credit is your life on paper...

You can not purchase insurance and expect it to retroactively cover any costs before you purchased it. If that were the case, no one woudl buy insurance until after they badly needed it. |

Its not possible to purchase health insurance that will cover expenses from a year ago.
(I know its too late now, but in the future...don't go to a hospital for vaccinations! Go to the health department or a clinic...many can provide the vaccinations at a reduced cost.)
You'll have to work out a payment plan with the provider to pay off the bills. |

You can not get insurance that is retroactive. Sorry, you will have to pay the outstanding medical bills. |

There are no health insurance I know of that will pay for costs that occured in the past. They will only pay for medical costs during the time you have the insurance. |

Well, sure, you went to the MOST EXPENSIVE PLACE to get shots. Kinda like shopping for a plain gold wedding ring at Tiffany's.
You can't buy insurance after the fact, that will pay your bill for you. You're going to have to pay this bill.
You can't buy a lottery ticket after the drawing. You can't bet on a horse race after it's been won. |

You can apply for Health insurance today. If you and your husband are legally married you can get the policy together, but if you are separate or divorced you would each need your own policies. The insurance will pay as you move forward not for services previously rendered. Also there can be a clause for pre-existing injured that would prevent you from service for a period of time moving forward. I would suggest that you talk with a health insurance agent broker and have them tell you what plans would work best for you. As for your old bills contact the hospital and labs and make a payment plan and don't miss a payment. Good luck. |
